Trentino-Alto Adige

Trentino-Alto Adige is a region of Northern Italy, bordering Austria to the north, the Veneto to the southeast, Lombardy to the west, and Switzerland to the north-west. The region was part of Austria-Hungary until 1919, when it was annexed by Italy. The region’s cuisine shows its Austrian and Hungarian heritage in dishes such as homemade sauerkraut and goulash.
